What to bring on a Tanzania Safari?
Packing for your safari can easily seem like a daunting task. These guidelines will give you a basic idea on what you need to include on your packing list:
• Beige, khaki and neutral clothing is crucial for your safari. Animals are more inclined to be relaxed when you are in their habitat when you do not stand out in stark colours – as a rule, it is always best to blend in with your environment.
• Binoculars! This is a must, as any avid birder will know, to fully experience the intricacies of the Tanzanian landscape with enhanced vision.
• Insect repellent – Unfortunately, insects come hand in hand with any safari. The best way to ensure that you are not pestered is to pack insect repellent and use it as required.
•Camera – taking photographs is one of the best ways to preserve a memory. Make sure however, that you have the flash or noisy shutter disabled to avoid startling any animals.
• Hat and sunscreen – The strength of the African sun cannot be underestimated. To avoid spending several days in the shade of your camp recovering from severe sunburn, make sure to protect yourself accordingly.
Is a Tanzania safari family friendly?
Of course! There are few greater joys than watching the delight on a child’s face as they experience their first encounter with a member of the Big 5. Safaris provide great stimulation for a developing mind.
